Garrett Ace 350 Metal Detector Reviewgarrett ace 350

  • Price Range – $290.00-$300.00
  • Recommended Uses – Beach Hunting, Coin Hunting, Jewelry Hunting, Relic Hunting

The Garrett Ace 350 is a good mid-range metal and relic detector with an efficient Double D coil. This allows for more even depth detection and better separation than more traditional concentric coils.

It is particularly good with iron discrimination, so you won’t find yourself constantly digging up useless scrap, as can be the case with some lower end models. It is designed for mineralized grounds, and is well equipped for hot soil and dry beach hunting as well. It also performs great in trashy areas.

Because of the higher frequency output, the machine is extremely effective at detecting low conduction relics. Keep in mind however that this will make it less efficient at searching for nuggets.

The Garrett Ace 350 includes

  • 5 search modes
  1. All Metal (Zero)
  2. Jewelry
  3. Custom
  4. Relics
  5. Coins
  • Coin depth Battery indicators
  • The Matt screen (means you won’t get any of that annoying glare from the sun, which plagues many LCD displays)
  • 8.5″ x 11″ PROformance DD submersible searchcoil

As is now the norm, if you don’t have a pinpointer on hand you can also use the electronic pinpointing feature, which will speed up recovery and prevent damaging your find.

It terms of practicality, it is a fairly lightweight design at 2.8 lbs, and has an adjustable length of 42″ to 51″ (1.06m – 1.29m). The spongy grips give some added comfort, and it also has a good battery life for those long days hunting.

However if you have a bit more money to spend and know what you’re doing, check out our look at Garrett’s newest addition to the Ace metal detector line The Garrett Ace 400, released new in 2016 it is currently the most advanced of the ACE detectors, also if you are looking to stick with the Garrett brand, but find yourself wanting to get in to water hunting with a waterproof detector our  Garrett AT Pro Review may be worthwhile to have a look at. (update: Garrett announced in May 2017 the release of Garrett AT MAX)

Overall, if you are looking for a reasonably priced mid-range metal detector, and you want to get out there and efficiently and easily start

hitting your local parks and older home sites and you love digging coins, relics and jewellery, then you can’t go wrong with the Garrett Ace 350. It is a great machine for beginners who are serious and want to dive right in.
