Bounty Hunter Junior Metal Detector BHJS
The Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector is fun, user-friendly, light-weight, and finds what you’re searching for!
Loaded with features similar to a full-sized detector (but miniaturized to a child’s size), the Bounty Hunter BHJS offers a perfect opportunity to introduce the little ones to the excitement that comes with searching for lost treasure. Great for all-terrains, the metal detector is built to find small or coin-sized objects at a depth of 5-inches or so and large objects at a depth of 3-ft or thereabouts, and comes with a convenient discrimination dial to ensure you don’t waste time searching unwanted items.
Lightweight and comfortable to grip (even for little hands); the BHJS Metal Detector is equipped with a target indicator which emits a tone or beep as the user closes in on a hidden object – for ease-in-use, the signal volume is nice enough to increase in volume as the target gets close.
Bounty Hunter’s Junior Metal Detector is easy-to-use for the youth (recommended age: 6-years +) through to adulthood.

- Reviews & Ratings
Praise for the Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector relates to its light-weight construction, ease in handling, and the simplicity of the face plate controls (power – eliminator – target indicator – battery power), so perfect for the first timer. On average, the Bounty Hunter Junior achieves a 4.1 rating (out of 5), given by 105+ reviewers, with 80+ of those reviewers giving a very satisfied 4 or 5 rating.
On the negative sides, a small minority commented on a need to get right up close to a piece of metal for detector to emit a noise; also the intensity of the beep doesn’t always seem to increase, it gives out a beep or it doesn’t.

Some might be skeptical of purchasing a junior version of a metal detector, but it actually works great. It is very lightweight. You just need the 9-volt batteries to get up and running. Make sure to read the instructions, calibrate as directed and a child with a have bucket load of fun searching for treasure in the yard, on the beach, in a field, etc. Also, as the metal detector comes with a telescoping handle it makes things easier if dad decides to help out.
